also, i've given you zero explaination of the semantics part, which is actually the part i feel more solid on, but in fairness it's damn hard to explain.
and yes, this is predicated on the idea that belief and doubt are feelings. i personally can't imagine what else you'd call them, but i'm willing to discuss it.
my hypothesis about argumentation is that most arguments/debates revolve almost entirely around semantics and are almost always about feelings more than anything. this is why i hate when people say "that's just semantics" and also why i laugh when i hear a-weasle-i-wil-not-bother-naming say "facts don't care about your feelings," as if the "facts" he uses to argue are not, like everyone's when they argue, chosen because they support his feelings.

the internet needs to help me. i have tried google to no avail. so in the 80s (most likely, but possibly early 90s) there was a cartoon with little yellow guys with round heads? i had a toy of one who had a cape, a propeller cap, some kind of goggles, and sneakers. the toy had a button on one of the sneakers which played the theme song from the show. if anyone knows the name of the show you have to tell me. i have been going crazy.
