At what point does someone become a naturist? 🤔

Is it the first time you visit a naturist beach?

The first time you spend a whole day without clothes?

I'm not so sure.

I think it happens the day you stop thinking about it altogether.

When it stops feeling like an activity and simply becomes part of everyday life. 🙏

If living nude is considered an act of rebellion, then I guess I'm living a pretty rock'n'roll life.

Not exactly the kind with smashed guitars and hotel room disasters, though.

Just a lot more sunshine and a lot fewer clothes. 😄

For me, naturism has never been about nudity.

It's about what happens when the usual social markers disappear.

Without clothes, you can't immediately tell who earns the most, who has the highest status, or who owns the nicest things.

The differences that seem so important in everyday life suddenly matter a little less.

What remains is simply people sharing the same space, the same experiences, and the same humanity.

One thing that surprised me when I started naturist camping wasn't the nudity

It was how quickly it stopped being the focus.

People imagine naturist camps as something unusual, but they're mostly filled with the same things you'd find anywhere else: morning coffee, conversations, walks, shared meals and laughter.

Just with fewer clothes and a little less self-consciousness.

One of the things naturism has taught me is that most of the pressure we put on our bodies comes from comparison.

The more time I spend around ordinary naked people, the more I realise there is no such thing as a "normal" body.

Just bodies. All different. All human.
