An affectionate nickname that I call my cat is Goober. And somehow that has morphed into Gubernatorial Candidate. So, for instance, when I come in from work and he greets me with a meow I will respond with, "It's good to see you, too, Gubernatorial Candidate." I'm not sure if he's aware of the kind of pressure this puts on him. He doesn't seem to mind.

I'm at a conference and one of the women who is also attending it is getting ready to be ordained as part of the Roman Catholic Women Priests and we had a blessing for her and prayed over her and sang the hymn "Here I Am Lord" with our full voices and full hearts and there were several Sisters from various religious communities who were present and participated and it was a very beautiful thing to be a part of. #OrdainWomen

I've been thinking about becoming a hospice volunteer for a while now & need to return a phone call to the hospice about it but I've been hemming and hawing.
Cut to today, when I'm eating lunch with a woman who is here on retreat. She turns to me & says, "I'm getting ready to start a conscious living & conscious dying class." Which totally had nothing to do with our conversation. Then she says, "When I feel like I might be called to something I always look for little affirmations from God."

I need to go to work but if I go outside to get to my car I'll scare away the cat who is eating the food I put outside for them. #CatsOfMastodon
