One of my favorite writers, Laird Barron, is in need of some help. He is currently in the hospital with some fairly serious ongoing health issues, and has no insurance. I've donated and hope that if you can that you will too -- and please spread the word.

So the goals you had set
were not achieved.
So the plans you had made
all went awry.
So all of your hopes
(your quite moderate hopes)
just ended in disappointment
You have survived another year
of the plague
and while that may feel
as though it is not enough
it suffices.
I recently joined Mastodon, and I found it jarring that it has very few discoverability features.
So I’ve built this little tool to help build connections with people: https://followgraph.vercel.app/
Check it out!
If you like it weird, eerie, macabre, strange, numinous, esoteric, fabulist, and gothic - give us a try.

Seeing everyone circulating what they wrote and what they loved this year (myself included), I can't help but think of everyone who, by choice, circumstance, or disposition, didn't write (and/or publish) as much as they wished they had. Or at all.
So, for you, and me, and everyone: "Even if you're not actively writing [...], you are still a writer, because of the way you regard the world - with curiosity and interest and some sort of love." (George Saunders)
