More benefits of #remotework 😂
Hmm. I was thinking about ChatGPT as a successor to Google, then wondered about the successor to SEO. But maybe I'm thinking about the wrong questions.

And there you have it. People in menial jobs are "dumb", and once their value for doing those jobs is gone they are considered worthless.

This isn't commentary about technology, but about what the technology reveals.

I am catching up on Overland Journal winter 2022 and noticing a higher level of appreciation for real photos of real things happening, captured by the a real person behind the camera. I understand that "real" can be argued in esoteric ways, but there is something soul-stirring about these that seems remarkably absent from the generated images flooding my online world. I expect that to change, maybe in my lifetime, but let me cling to my old dead tree media and clunky cameras in the meantime.

A taste of the dreamy new camera, on a swing through Klamath Basin on the way home from Thanksgiving in Oregon...
What is this hellscape?
