2/ The extra sad thing is, I voted for the decriminalization of weed and I would probably do so again because of the the actual medicinal value and the fact that enforcement burden was demonstrably carried by low income, and non-white, populations*. And now this will probably blow up into a highly partisan mess with a deeply unsatisfactory outcome for everyone.
It’s just a reminder that the human race largely sucks and I should just stop having hopes of reasonable behavior becoming the norm.

This article is of deep interest to me as I am one of those unfortunate souls actually allergic to marijuana smoke. I routinely have to play dodge on many city blocks. I can’t even go to something as an innocuous outdoor symphony concert anymore because people light up even at these non-smoking events because somehow in their minds “joints or vapes don’t count”. I’ve had numerous people tell me I should just stay home if I can’t be around it. The level of entitlement and lack of empathy for those around them continues to simply astound me.

This Black History Month remember human trafficking was legal. Slavery was legal. Jim Crow was legal. US Govt paying reparations to white enslavers but not to the enslaved was legal. Prison slavery still IS legal.
Do not let legality & power be a measure of morality & justice.
