I posted about switching to Firefox as my "daily driver" browser as a little tiny step away from Chromium browser hegemony, and I had a ton of people in the replies suggesting I should just use Brave or Edge or Opera or Vivaldi instead.

I'm a little concerned that people don't realize just how pervasive this problem is. Every single one of those sits on top of the Chromium codebase.

The next step after this will be fixing the treadle, which I expect to be a job in and of itself. I have it stored away due to the rusty nails and its general sad status.

So, I think I have decided that I’m going to complete sanding the antique wheel (taking off the flaking paint) and then will finish it off fairly simply. I debated painting it in something resembling the original colors, but I want to honor her age and natural beauty. Will stop by the local woodworking shop this week and see what I can find.

This heat has me feeling stifled inside. Tomorrow I fully intend to spend the majority of the day in the local pool or next to it, reading and sipping cold drinks. Probably in an unstylish but nevertheless very functional and good hat.
