My name is Matthew A.L. Hardy. Administrator of the Servers of the Windows, Sysadmin of the Database of SQL and loyal reader of the TRUE predictions of Issac Asimov. Father to some awesome sons, husband to an awesome wife. And I will have my pudding, on this day or the next.
Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do, except perhaps my wife and some of her friends. Oh yes, and Captain Johnson. But someone should really show the leader of the free world how to set up and use an alt account for when he wants to share a bad taste Barbara Ann parody.
I'm cc'd on a email that my colleague has sent to a customer to ask for said customer's email address. Should I intercede or see how this plays out?

"Mr. President, we don't know where Iran's nuclear stockpile actually is."

"I keep all my classified papers in my bathroom. Did you check there?"

Bo Burnham once said:

“Why do you rich fucking white people Insist on seeing every socio-political conflict through the myopic lens of your own self-actualization? This isn't about you. So either get with it, or get out of the fucking way”

Apparently, protesters have started throwing glitter at ICE agents. You can picture the scene at home.

Agent's wife: Why do you have glitter all over you?

Agent (sweating anxiously): I … I went to a strip club with the guys. And … I got a lap dance from a stripper.

Wife: Huh. I guess that's OK then. For a moment I was worried that you'd started working for ICE.

@GrahamFluster It can always get worse..😂

I don't like the phrase "Caused by climate change". I'd should prefer to say "as part of climate change." Climate change is not a cause, it's an observation. Climate is weather patterns observed over a period of decades. These weather patterns have changed. That's an empirical fact. what's caused that, whether it's likely to continue and if so what can be done about it it may be settled science for most but it's not beyond reason to question that. However when people say climate change doesn't exist? Bonkers!
Today I had to update a password expiry date in keepass from 20/06/2025 to 31/07/2025. I struggled. It just wouldn't let me overtype the 20 to a 31 until I'd updated the month. I guess this makes sense for US centric date order but wasted a few minutes of my day before I figured out the problem. Your challenge for today is to estimate the total amount of time lost by computer operators worldwide dealing with the annoying fact that the country with the most influence over software, picked a different date format from the rest of the planet.
