Außerdem außerdem! Haben wir mit dem Update auf 4.5 auch Emoji Reactions aus glitch-soc installiert. Beachtet, dass nur User auf Fediverse Server, die dieses Feature unterstützen, diese auch sehen können werden.
Weil solche Erinnerungen wieder rumgehen, hier auch die Erinnerung von uns: Die Instanz toot.kif.rocks läuft aktuell bei der @fsinfo_tudo und generiert keine* laufenden Kosten, wir brauchen also keine Spenden. Ihr könnt aber stattdessen eine Spende an die Entwickler*innen eurer Mastodon-Clients leisten, an das Mastodon Projekt selbst, oder an eine Hilfe-Einrichtung für marginalisierte Gruppen eurer Wahl 
(* keine laufenden Kosten ist jetzt natürlich eine Vereinfachung, aber für diese Diskussion eine ausreichend gute Annäherung)

Kurze Meldung aus dem Maschinenraum: Wir haben die Option, womit wenn ihr im toot.kif.rocks Web-Interface auf einen Link irgendwo anders hin klickt, das Ziel mitkriegt, dass ihr auf toot.kif.rocks auf den Link geklickt habt, aktiviert.
Bei der Größe von toot.kif.rocks gehen wir hier nicht davon aus, dass das ein Privacy Problem ist. Wer Referer für problematisch hält wird aber vermutlich schon wissen, wie sie/er die ausschalten kann, ggfs. müsst ihr es für toot.kif.rocks noch zusätzlich aktivieren.

Attached: 1 image With Mastodon v4.4.0 instance owners can enable HTTP referrers. That means: If somebody clicks a link in a Mastodon post (e.g. to a news article), the link target owner (such as the news site operator) can see that a user from that instance has visited their website. They do _only_ get the instance domain (e.g. metalhead.club). No information about the user! I've enabled this setting, because I am sure that it will increase awareness of Mastodon's existence. 💪 Edit: (in previous versions, Mastodon did not send referrer-Headers) #mastodon #mastoadmin
Es fragen uns immer wieder Leute wie sie toot.kif.rocks unterstützen können, bzw. wie die Finanzierung der Server usw. dahinter aussieht.
Das Hosting wird immer noch von der @fsinfo_tudo zur Verfügung gestellt, dafür brauchen wir aktuell keine finanzielle Unterstützung. Die Moderationslast ist aktuell auch noch klein genug, dass wir uns selbst kümmern können.
Ihr könnt aber Projekte im Fediverse unterstützen, finanziell z.B. das Mastodon Projekt, das wir für toot.kif.rocks nutzen, darüberhinaus gibt es noch weitere Projekte, da würden wir euch selbst suchen lassen was ihr unterstützenswert findet.
(Achso, und auf Mastodon 4.4 haben wir auch schon geupdatet, viel Spaß

@elizabeth Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are currently updating/changing our internal networks and it seems we have forgotten to update the reverse proxy config accordingly, sorry for the disruption. We have added a check to our monitoring so that we can notice any similar issue faster.
@ruhrscholz @js the instance was setup when having a different local and web domain was not only supported but even advertised, which is not quite the case anymore now https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/config/#federation
There's a bunch of tools, mostly the quickly hacked ones, that don't support that (the whole slew of Twitter-Mastodon-Follower-Finders a few years ago for example), but sometimes also clients. We're stuck with it one way or another now though, so best we can do is try to keep our config uptodate (😅) and hope 😬
@js @ruhrscholz That should have been the case and was the case until a few weeks ago. It seems we botched the config (/.well-known/webfinger/ was proxied but not without the trailing /) when changing the reverse proxy. It should be fixed now.
