TELEMAIL, lolz.....

After all these past decades, I'm still SysOP@1:102/127 if you want to get ahold of me via Netmail ;)
Two really nice things about this software:

* You can use some or all of the features to your own preference - as much or as little that fits into your particular needs
* Regardless of whether you commit to the tedium of initially populating your inventory database, it's an excellent recipe CMS.

I wonder about the barcode scanning capabilities that you covered. It seems like so much of a hassle to enter say, spices, and then the next time you replenish, you do so from a different store with different brands and bar codes, or purchase packages with different quantities. Sure, you can add to existing, as you say, but then that doesn't address the various package quantities. I'm thinking that there are UPC code databases that Grocy might be able to import or subscribe to in order to facilitate automation there, and that would go a long way towards incentivizing the use of the barcode capabilities of the inventory system aspects of this unique and delightful self-hosted product.

Oh hey :)

I wasn't suggesting changing your host, but rather, showing a way to build your own CDN with the above links - that would shield your IP, and ensure you the complete privacy and other security aspects that you control - i.e., build your own small Cloudflare using the same identical technology (except the mmproxy I gave a link to is written in Go for the sake of simplicity.

It's certainly a non-trivial undertaking, but you would just continue to use your existing host (whatever that is, home Pi, VPS, etc.). It would also reduce DNS attack surface if you implement the DNSCrypt-proxy on those CDN boxes. I've been toying with the idea of building another one again, but don't really feel I have a use case, and if I made it commercially available, then I'd be subjected to the same trust and security scrutiny that all of the other CDNs out there are lol.

Hehehe... I was waiting for you to write back again. I just had a feeling you would and I would have the opportunity to post the following.

Okay, Google Compute and Amazon free tier VPSes and a couple of $2/mo VPSes from buyvm.net - I think they still do those hotrod ultra cheap and shitty OpenVZ VPS services.

Okay, just checked. https://BuyVM.net does. I didn't check their available inventory, demand is high with them. I know the proprietor, Francisco. he runs a quality service.

Deploy from those resources (Free GC/Amazon, and a couple of commercial providers - OVH is another you can check with). Theres the backbone of your CDN for less than $15/mo, including your DNS if you like.

I wrote an article in some online ezine but can't remember where, but if you can set up a proxy and edit a BIND zonefile you're 80% there. https://HE.net/dns is free too and you can AXFR from there ;)

That should be everything you need I think?

Oh man.... fricken' awesome!

Better than anything one might find on that monolithic shithole known as YouTube.

This reminds me a lot of back when I decided to earn a certificate in UNIX Systems administration from Cal State Long Beach. What I really like about this is that it was published long before Linux and is pure in its UNIX philosophies. concepts of data, portability.... things that people don't actually even understand the significance of today, even though it's still the ubiquitous paradigm.

Thank you for uploading this to the Fediverse! I'mma post this now on one of my other Fediverse servers so others can share and appreciate this.
So many videos from vidcommons never load. A lot of our members and viewers have complained about this over the pas several months.

Please hit me up on Matrix: @tallship:matrix.org or via XMPP: [email protected] to see if there's something we can all do to help alleviate this problem, especially considering the vauluable breadth of your catalogue.
