No Joy Searches - sometimes...

Other times, it seems snappy. the majority of search functions I typically perform are either @[email protected] or the actual URLs of posts I want to boost or quote-post.... er... #Renote or #Quote, rather, in *key vernacular :)

And sometimes, even though I get that dialog box popping up to mock me (I don't think I'm imagining this), if I just sit for a bit, sometimes it will eventually offer up a SERP.

The majority of the time however, I get mocked for bothering to search for a specific item that I know exists with this graphic:

Oddly enough, This morning I tuned into TCM coz I didn't really wanna be paying attention to the TV while I was working on wrapping up the deployment of an enterprise cloud platform for a client; not that I was under a deadline, but I needed focus, AND some chamber music of a sort in the background - something I wouldn't be rocking out to.

Well, one of those films that played earlier today was starring Jean Simmons. I'm always looking up the talent, I can't say if it's to glean a bit of perspective on the art form or just to glean some aspect of the industry.

Anyway, Jean played a lot of glamorous, gorgeous characters, and was cast in some pretty high profile roles, with Academy Award nominations and even the role of a Starfleet Admiral in TNG.

But the real topper, I think, was me wondering what it must have been like to in some way be overshadowed during the last 40 years of her career by a money grubbing narcissist that might not have ever even really cared about the music itself...

And then you go and draw down with a humorous, tongue in cheek simile, an astute observation on the same day, lolz....

Well now...

It's time for that proverbial first post here on Catodon.Social for me.

There's really nothing to say as far as #introductions go, although I did just #hashtag that here for a bit of silliness. I've been heavily involved in #Fediverse advocacy for many years now, and I also regularly boost posts of mine from my accounts on other platforms as well, so all I can say is, most relevant info is on my profile page here and feel free to contact me directly via one of the methods listed there at any time.

My primary interests are in relation to technology itself, but like anyone else, a bit of humor is good for the soul. If you want to know what perturbs me, then just suggest making the ill-advised choice of using non-FOSS software, and when developing FOSS, failing to dogfood by homing support forums on proprietary crap like Discord, instead of any myriad, wonderful FOSS based solutions - i.e., Matrix, XMPP, Telegram, Revolt, IRC, soooo many free and open source solutions - use FOSS in everyday life.

Now, for a bit of comedic truth....
