IIRC there’s an accessibility option that makes things less dark, so probably less scary. Doubt you’ll get back to the game after so long (even though it’s really worth it!), but it might help other people
I’ve repaired and tinkered with many phones and computers, I thought I’d be able to change the battery in my third gen iPod nano… But I completely messed it up because of the soldering. It ain’t easy :(
Because you’re on Lemmy, anything that isn’t Linux is bad

Part of me wishes I was a Windows user because Microsoft gives so many good reasons to switch to Linux. But even though I don’t use any of Apple’s services, I’m just too well off on macOS, got no real reason to switch.

Not saying macOS will never suck, and it already does in some aspects, but its suck factor has been pretty stable for the last 15 years I’ve been using it.

Yeah, but i haven’t heard of people getting a reply from them in years
Considering the current state of « Apple Intelligence », this seems unlikely 🗿

I remember a while back, you could send emails to some high ups at Apple like Craig Federighi or Phill Schiller, and if you got lucky you’d get an actual reply from them. Even Steve Jobs back in the day.

It wasn’t much, but this kind of thing made megacorps feel a lot more « human » than they do today

As far as I know recent iPhones all have parts pairing, so you can’t swap parts between phones unless Apple authorises it. Absolutely sucks ass for repairability, but it’s supposed to help in the context of stolen phones.

I guess thieves found a way to circumvent it, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense

None of us… on Lemmy. Normal people don’t care, they’ll be making as much money as ever.
*anyone on Lemmy
