@hourlycosmos Wow, that’s amazing!
I am taking a holiday break, but didn’t think this could wait. https://america.substack.com/p/the-sociopathy-of-greg-abbott-redux
The Sociopathy of Greg Abbott (redux)

I thought it important to pause from my holiday break to share with you this post, originally published on March 5, 2021, after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott bused asylum seekers on Christmas Eve in sub-freezing temperatures to Washington, DC. His political stunt, which included children and many who were not properly dressed for the conditions, was not a surprise, but it was particularly vile for a man who portrays himself as a Christian.

America, America
@StevenBeschloss Greed, Power, and Ignorance have gripped our society so tight that we are afraid to confront the true cause of the pain we experience. When will we stop looking for someone to blame? This cancer is caused by all of us who refuse to look in the mirror and do the right thing. The rich and wealthy underpinnings of those who believe that they are superior to the masses is a great place to start looking for what ails this society. The oppression of others is evil.
@StevenBeschloss Steven, thank you for your very candid article. I would just like to add that the lack of humanity that Trump helped to showcase during his time in office is not a new phenomenon. History has been calling on us to act to save our society for centuries. The often ill-fated wars that have been waged against others have always tilted toward inhumane treatment of those who we think are inferior. Why have we allowed this treacherous behavior to be so accepted?
“It is not our diversity which divides us; it is not our ethnicity, or religion or culture that divides us. Since we have achieved our freedom, there can only be one division amongst us: between those who cherish democracy and those who do not.”
—Nelson Mandela
