Very generous of The Musk That Must Not Be Mentioned to have bankrolled Mastodon’s stress testing

Just realised what this Mastodon fediverse thing reminds me of : FidoNet back in the dim dark history of dial up modems and BBSes. Not just the distributed tech but the whole general atmosphere and ethos of the place. Nostalgic to be part of the future 😀

Is there some kind of Mastodon / Twitter gateway whereby you can follow Twitterers here and vice versa? That seems like it'd be a killer app (or possibly killing both platforms in the process)

So I followed someone on here and it now shows as “pending”? How does that work? Can you choose to only have selected people follow you? #newhere

I’m not sure that this Mastadon thing is going to catch on like Twitter did. I’ve been here a while and still nobody’s called me a libtard or offered me unsolicited opinions on where I could fuck off to.
