couple of things:

i've seen some people asking about midnight.dance! i made midnight as a small personal instance and i'm still feeling out how big i want it to be, so for right now invites are closed for the foreseeable future.

also, i want to apologize for the confusion with mass DMs from other mods. that's something i shouldve shut down, and it's on me. i invited some friends there, including the other mods, when i set it up. i've been all over the place and i wasn't clear enough that people shouldn't officially migrate until after we had cleared things up here. people got excited and sent those out without thinking and it caused a lot of stress for you all, and im sincerely sorry.

To help make the move as smooth as possible, we'll keep the site up for a while longer, and there's a list of recommended instances in the attached doc. If you're interested in trying to set up your own instance, we highly recommend trying it out if you have the funds and a bit of coding experience! You're always welcome to ask one of us for help setting up, and Berries' rules, themes and blocklist are open source (linked in the doc as well).

We are sad to announce that in the next week or so, Berries will be closing down. Although this lines up with a lot of people moving, it's actually a decision we've been discussing internally for a while now, and one that we're making for our own mental health and time management.
We want to be clear that it's not because of/in response to recent drama; if anything, the impetus for this conversation was Gen's injury, and it led to all of us realizing that we just weren't in a place to run the site anymore, especially since others of us are also struggling with mental and physical health issues right now.
