Last night my wrist was strong enough for me to play double bass at a 3-hour gig for the 1st time in 8 months since I broke it!

Big relief as it’s been subliminally, I’ve now realised, quite a big psychological breakthrough for me to return to playing but I’ve now achieved it and know I can do it so the sky’s the limit now!

The gig went great and it was fantastic to mark the occasion by performing at a brand new venue - The Botanist in Sheffield - great crowd in who got involved dancing! 🎉

So my first chapters, contrary to received wisdom, are often quite measured. This new one, on the other hand, was some of the most visceral stuff I've done. With added viscera.

When you wake up at 6am, listen to an audiobook on #stoicism which is encouraging you to get up, go out on a walk in nature and you fall back asleep until 9am… 😴 the irony is real 😂
