Just realised that my phd progress has been deeply influenced by Covid in my first year, then the wide-spread consequences of the war between Russia and Ukraine as well as now the business between Trump and NATO... A sand in the history can be a mountain pressing a person's life.

Iranian and Israeli colleagues support each other and ask how they are doing everyday. How nice people they are, and how crazy the politicians in their governments have been...

My promotor's life is like a tough legend... It's so touching and almost makes me cry 😭

Couldn't sleep or not thinking of the people dying in wars... It's so desperate... I cannot even have an idea like who should be blamed as blaming does not make any changes...

Iran and Russia somehow are shaped by global (majorly, the US) politics to be a vicious enemy in their respective region. I believe China was also very close to that situation before, and the attempt never stopped. Why are they so obsessed with "rebalancing" powers?

To some extent research is a cruel industry because if a paper's core contribution is marginal, that is very obvious no matter how well the paper has been written to survive from review. In the other side, it also means a true diamond has a high chance to shine even without good writing.

Wondering if an "ideal" world model would be the solution base for all simulation-based questions (as opposed to empirical). To what extent then will sim2real gap drag the progress?
