While I'd love to think that the recent climate change related tornados, fires, floods, and heat domes would challenge the remaining climate deniers, I suspect they might just pivot to being climate doomers who'll say it's too late to change.

Anything that absolves them of the need to change.

As we approach independence day here in the US, I'm thankful that I live in a country with a constitution that enshrines my right to burn or desecrate as many holy books or flags as I want to under the 1st amendment.

That number is zero. I'm still thankful, because it's important that the country I live in doesn't value the feelings of a mob of religious zealots over my freedom.... unless they're Christian zealots. Then I'm out of luck with this Supreme Court.

From climate denial to acceptance of religious claims, what if the reason for it all persisting in our world all became so crystal clear to you the moment it was pointed out to you that there's only so many people in the world with an epistemological framework that functions more reliably than the one you have?

I'm in terror just thinking about that.

I had no idea that under German law if you accept an inheritance you must also accept responsibility for legal claims against the deceased.
