@dl2jml @femme_mal at least one of those boosts was someone explaining why your post was toxic.
Engagements are not endorsements, and treating them as such reveals a marked lack of understanding in how places like this work.
@molly0xfff @JohnBJohnBJohnB pure speculation, but I'm guessing the difference is TikTok users on average like the app, as opposed to being fanatically devoted to the concept of short-form video as the technological messiah.
@molly0xfff 4.20 billion plus 420 million and filed to be available today?
Guess we know what they're smoking...
@TechConnectify I'll be on the lookout for that!

@scottjenson @TechConnectify @[email protected] As someone who lived before social media, I can assure you the wrong were still loud back then. Social media does have an amplifying effect but much less so than nostalgia would have you remember.
@peschkaj "appliances."
@molly0xfff "praise the blockchain" lol

Now that I've addressed the (lack of) principle in your response, let's talk about the practicalities.
"Not everyone will leave" - true, but look at union activity. The lack of a general strike hasn't prevented organization of local unions and strikes, because they know that the lack of a universal perfect solution does not invalidate good local solutions. In fact, it makes them all the more necessary.
"There's nowhere to go" - ghost, medium, self-hosting, etc.

"Not everyone else is going to stand up" and "it's hard to stand up" aren't arguments against standing up.

They're admissions of cowardice.
