Getting close to having a working paper baselined: “Do AI Chatbots Provide an Outside View?”. Still nailing down some of the details on a couple of analyses, co-author feedback, etc.
Very excited to check out the DIY premium chocolate kit by Home Chocolat, a cool company that I got introduced to as part of the Soft Landings program at Cornell. I think it is very intriguing to be able to craft one’s own premium chocolate, such as for a party. Small indulgences! Seems like would be a great gift idea too, especially for the holidays. Thanks, Liora Omer!

As a follow-on post to summer 2023 exploratory work that is happening with the Behavioral Economics Research and Education Lab, we’ve started to compile early results. Here are some test result summaries of different AI platforms based on the conjunction fallacy test (Linda problem). Note that platforms vary based on degree of live access to the internet and incorporation of slower System 2 thinking influences (although these characteristics are also confounded with platform implementation).
I had a great time both teaching today at the Tata Innovation Center at Cornell Tech (photo below) and separately meeting with students outside of class. I hope that they find me approachable, engaging, and helpful. I’ll try to earn their trust every day I can. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the students seem extremely sharp and diverse in terms of backgrounds and aspirations (e.g., sustainability, food, software, FinTech, consulting). 1/2
In 2023, I going to experiment with series of short posts and mixed media that will try to appeal to those that are thinking of starting behavioral economics initiatives or trying to take things to the next level. I have a unique background to bring this type of content as I have worked in the commercial world for more than 30 years while also having an academic research and teaching background in behavioral economics. 1/2
Trying to see how much I have to address writing assignments for students given ChatGPT. Here I prompted ChatGPT to write a research proposal. I have not yet tried asking for citations.
The fall semester has really flown by. Thanks to all of the students in my research methods class. What hasn’t killed you has made you stronger.🤣
Now preparing spring. Here’s a short pitch slide for students considering taking my AEM 6150 course on applied behavioral economics.
