@schwa how nice it would be to put "it's been relitigated already; we will never add an animated launch screen" to PRODUCT.md and have that be the last one hears of it.

FIVE! DAYS! FIVE! DAYS! FIVE DAYS UNTIL THE SUMMIT! That's barely any time at all!!! Have you gotten your tickets yet? Have you signed up for your workshops? Now's the time!

Get tickets right here: https://ticket.nodeforum.org/OHS26/

A quick look at some of my instruments:

I do love drones (the musical kind).
@dtl I've already stopped measuring my age in years, and now just roughly gauge it based on how often I pull a muscle or get a sore knee.

I'll do a proper write up when I'm back home, but I've been experimenting with input methods for musical instruments. I'm focusing on using physical, intuitive mechanisms like flywheels and shakers.

The orange cylinder contains some suspended magnets and Hall effect sensors, so shakes and their amplitudes can be turned into musical outputs. The green and white wheels are weighted flywheels that spin freely, and the rate of rotation is used to control the amplitude of a synthesised drone sound.

I managed to fit in some badge hacking, using ESPNow to connect it to one of my synths and use the badge keyboard as a... keyboard (the other kind).

Had a great time in ridiculously-beautiful Lecco at @hackaday Europe 2026 this weekend. I gave a talk about some musical instruments I've been prototyping, will share some more about them on here soon!

Absolutely love the conference badge - can't wait to play around with it some more.

Earlier this year I was impacted by the mass layoffs at Block, which sucks. One upside, however, is that it finally gave me time to work on a major update to PageTurn, my app for hands-free document and sheet music reading.

This release adds a bunch of new features, including:
• Set lists
• Ebook support
• Web page support (surprisingly great for recipes when your hands are messy)

It's on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pageturn/id1589601355

Downloads/boosts/shares very much appreciated 🙂

Surely electing an _even more_ Tory-ish Labour leader will help British politics, right?
