I've been feeling pretty good today, so I decided to make dim sum!
These are siu mai, and they're basically steamed, pastry wrapped meatballs. They're usually made from pork, but if you make them yourself you can use something that's halal/kosher. I've even used vegan mock meat before, which came out rather nicely!
The pastry is just wheat flour, water, and a spoon of oil. If gluten is a problem though, har kau dumplings can be made with tapioca/corn starch.
