@jacobfhsmith Congrats!!!!
Where do congressional election-year issue agendas come from, and how do they relate to policies Congress makes? I dig into those two questions in new work just out in the Cambridge Elements series . . . free to read until Feb. 16! https://www.cambridge.org/core/elements/abs/origins-and-consequences-of-congressional-party-election-agendas/B23E9A937A2F1FD47CAEAD8D41969E98

For Congress geeks looking ahead to Tuesday's Speaker election, Matt Glassman's short summary of rules and precedents is worth bookmarking: https://mattglassman.substack.com/p/my-notes-for-talking-to-reporters

@mattgrossmann Very glad to see your new research summaries over here on Mastodon, Matt!

So, since I'm going to give this Mastodon thing a try, here's an intro:

I'm a political science professor at Bucknell University, and I study American political institutions, with a focus on Congress--especially parties, leaders, and rules, and a little bit of congressional history. I do quant and archival work (sometimes both at the same time!). As a LAC professor, I also think a lot about teaching US politics to undergrads.
