ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRR for Chidambaram!!! 106 days and the man has emerged victorious and super strong after being wronged!!! Take a bow Sir P.Chidambaram! I can't wait to see him back in Parliament tearing the govt. to shreds and those Sunday columns making the haters feel miserable.
A lot of them had wanted Poch to replace Jose at MUFC. Now Jose has ended up replacing Poch at Spurs 😂😂😂 Football life can truly be unpredictable!!! https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11865330/jose-mourinho-appointed-tottenham-head-coach
Jose Mourinho appointed Tottenham head coach

Jose Mourinho has been named Tottenham head coach until the end of the 2023 season.

Sajith Premadasa as the UNP Presidential candidate didn't make much of a difference as he was already representing a divided group that further empowered Gotabaya to play the strongman card. The Easter Bombings gave Rajapaksas the thrust while a lack of unity between Ranil and Sirisena cost them heavily. Looks like Sri Lanka will have tough days ahead and would be interesting to see how India walks the tight rope with Rajapaksas back at the helm and their pro-China tilt.
@Vishsai Good question. The way things are going looks like we are going to have tougher times ahead in the neighbourhood. Bangladesh was positive but if the NRC comes into effect in India, then we will lose that leverage also with them. Bhutan also is not exactly on the same page now and have begun hedging their bets.
Some of the major reasons for the Gotabaya victory include the constitutional crisis that affected the country, the clashes between Sirisena and Ranil openly, and the Easter Bombings making the Rajapaksas claim that they are stronger on National Security. Gotabaya is not great news for India but definitely great news for China. Ranil as PM was perceived close to India and seen as an instinctive economic reformer. Sirisena as President crumbled over the last 1.5 years.
Gotabaya will be Mahinda 2.0 if not worse!!! I fear for the ethnic and religious minorities there now with Gotabaya back at helm. https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/sri-lanka-elections-2019-gotabaya-rajapaksa-wins-sri-lanka-presidential-elections-says-spokesperson-2133788
Gotabaya Rajapaksa Wins Sri Lanka Presidential Elections: Spokesperson

Sri Lanka's former wartime defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has won the presidency with a clear majority, his spokesman told AFP on Sunday, a day after the polls.

@vimoh No no not at all I meant like on FB and stuff.
@vimoh Can I share it on other platforms??? Only if you approve of course!!!
@vimoh I remember reading this when you had put it on Twitter and I liked it then. I was very happy to re-read the whole thing again. I can relate to every single word you wrote about. I remember what it meant to be scoffed at for choosing humanities over the sciences at the Intermediate level. I don't think anyone could have explained it better than the way you just did. This is something I care about a lot too. Have you written an article on it??? It would be easier to share on other platforms
-- That was the main thread. Many liked it. Many didn't. And I wrote a separate thread answering some of the most frequently raised concerns. Will add that here in some time. --
