Started playing Shadow for Mordor the other night cause I'm in a Tolkien mood (forgive me) and it's absolutely wild that it seems Talion's motivation is just to die already so he can see his dead family. Absolutely wild that im rooting for the main character's death as the win for the narrative XD

Perfect Butterfly Angelpeople might argue Signalis is a Good game or a Bad game but that doesn't matter. What matters is that it's a game that goes "what if Android girls had weird little hoof feet" and has permanently imprinted that onto the minds of a thousand lesbians online. We'll be seeing the fruits of that for years to come.
Like, obviously From Software aren't the first people to make hard games where you're supposed to enjoy that they're hard. But the way he phrases it, that part of the joy is not the overcoming but the exquisite death. The difficulty and punishment isn't just there for you to overcome it and enjoy the overcoming, you're supposed to enjoy getting your shit kicked in. You're also supposed to enjoy it when you get riddled with arrows or crushed by a boulder or run through with a spear.
