@atpfm for Time Machine backup I’m using my TrueNAS based NAS over SMB. Every time it completes a backup the NAS takes a snapshot (of the ZFS dataset containing the backup) and manages their retention (keeps a few around, deletes the oldest ones). If TM starts saying it’s corrupt I can just revert to the last clean snapshot. This also gives me flexibility that a NAS can give. I also do have physical drives for TM backup in other locations
