my encounter strategy is choosing each route whether to 1) close my eyes and run around till I hear an encounter sound, or 2) avoid overworld encounters and get the first ! encounter that spawns. its been fun :)

i (foolishly?) started a second save file of scarlet just so i can eventually get a second raging bolt + gouging fire to trade for iron boulder and iron crown
