One month in Germany! To celebrate, here's a picture of the Great Refractor Telescope at Telegrafenberg

I never made an introductory post when I first moved over to Mastodon, because at the time I was in the midst of moving from the US to Germany to start a new postdoc job. Now I think I'll give it a try. I work in astronomy, studying distant galaxies, how they form stars, and how they interact with surrounding hydrogen gas. Beyond that, I'm very excited to spend some time in Europe and see what there is to see. Here's a picture of my research institute on a wintry morning.
