Every year on new years eve, I think about Gene Catlow, creator of the comic of the same name. He was an incredibly positive force in the furry fandom and did a lot to encourage new artists.
New years eve was his favorite holiday, cus it is a time pretty much everyone on earth celebrates just making it through the year together.
The theme of connectivity and mutual understanding was all over his comics. At one point, his character rejects being part of a feline supremacist organization, referred to as a family, cus he's already part of a family, the family of all sentient life.
So, to me, new years eve is always going to be Gene Catlow day, cus I think his ideas are worth bringing into the future.
