@gruber I think you took it a way too easy on Cook. The harder thing for him to do would be to take the financial hit and not bolster the Presidency of someone who actively persecutes vulnerable minorities Cook’s company claims to support. Cook did the easy thing. Again. What’s good for Apple is not more important than what’s good for the country.
@gruber @siracusa I’m beyond sick of Tim Cook at this point. Whether or not he actually likes Trump, he has no problem licking his boots.
@siracusa I just witnessed my wife hit the back button in the Finder in macOS Sequoia about 10 times in a row, asking me why it’s not doing anything. The reason was because it was a new window, not the one she thought she wanted, and the difference in contrast when the back button is inactive is negligible.
@gruber it’s driving me crazy to keep hearing people talk about how much better Siri used to be without mentioning a huge reason why: Siri used to use Wolfram Alpha to generate so many of its answers before. Those answers made up the cool demos back then. “Divide the weight of a tiger by the weight of 100 ducks” and it would give you an answer. Now Siri would kick you out to a web search.
@gruber I’m not sure I’ve seen it mentioned in regards to how well Siri worked in the past, but most of the cool shit Siri was known for at the beginning came from presenting answers computed by Wolfram Alpha. Not sure when/why that integration stopped. I feel like WA could handle the Super Bowl question very well.
@gruber I’ve been pretty over Tim Cook for a while now (and for different reasons), so it’s really nice seeing someone of influence in this industry hold his feet to the fire on his Trump donation. Keep it up.
