@khorticija @richlv Es visas Latvijas Pasta nodaļas sauktu vienkārši kā "Latvijas Pasts". Bet nesen kāds kartētājs ar masveida labojumu nodēvēja katru pasta nodaļu Latvijā savā vārdā: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/152729594
Izskatās, ka daudzām pasta nodaļām vārdos bija skaitļi pirms šī labojuma.
Verdict:
Google is destroying itself. Google is losing users with practices like this. Google has already lost me. The only reasons I still use Google are reviews, aerial imagery and street view.
FYI, you can keep track of your Google Maps edits at 🍔 menu (three horizontal lines at top left side) -> Your contributions -> Edits. If the colourful dot next to your edit is red, your edit was rejected.
Thank God OpenStreetMap exists. Editing experience is much better here.
Bonus Situation:
I wanted to add a point for a big abandoned territory at the outskirts of my city (I think I placed that point in category Tourist Attraction). Point was added but it quickly disappeared after few days. Confused, I added another point and saved the link of that point to know what happens to it. A longer time passed and point was gone again. The link now only displayed coordinates of the point's location, placeholder image and nothing else.
Situation 3:
A popular pond next to my city had a duplicate point with the name in Russian when there was already a point in my country's native language. Both had reviews. I tried to delete the point with Russian name but edit was rejected every time. Then Google decided to leave the edit status at "Pending". And it just stayed like that for quite a while until the point was actually deleted somehow.
Situation 2:
I found a fake police station point in the middle of a highway and wanted to delete it. Again, Google quickly rejected my edit every time. And they even said "this doesn't follow their policies". More than a month has passed by and the fake point is still there.
