I am a high school English teacher and union member who wants to see our collective power used to uplift teachers, students, and communities. I am also here to discuss books, television, and film. Stories bring us together.
Apparently this was just the CBS coverage.
The Macy’s parade coverage just misgendered #Bluey like 12 times.
I declare Brasso the MVP of the Andor finale. I’m not suggesting that he outperformed that one monumental speech (he did not), but he landed the most beautiful line of dialogue and made the most new progress into our hearts.
I think we can all agree that the Star Wars universe has a new top villain. You know who I mean. You know what he did.

True:

"Mainstream journalists, who are endlessly harangued for their alleged liberal bias, jump at opportunities to strut their evenhandedness, even when it backfires on them." https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/11/22/midterms-mainstream-media-stand-by-red-wave/

That's from the Washington Post's media columnist, Erik Wemple:

What Wemple describes is a major factor. I've been writing about it for years. It helps explain yesterday's staggering "they both lie" tweet from Ashley Parker comparing Biden's mendacity to Trump's.

News outlets stand by their midterm debacle

What do news organizations have to say about pre-election reports that painted a grim picture for Democrats?

The Washington Post
@jayrosen_nyu I also love the point about the headlines themselves. So many otherwise respectable articles get pushed out to the world with misleading, click-bait titles.
@jayrosen_nyu Things get ugly fast when journalists see objectivity as some sort of easily balanced scale. I think it is important to chase nuanced conversations and make sure you aren't overlooking complexities....but when folks haven't truly vetted the strength of their sources or considered the power/influence/agenda of the voices they give "equal" billing to - all of the attempts at objectivity can be damaging...and anything BUT balanced.
@veirling I just made a slight edit to my post. I don't think it really changes the message, but since you were kind enough to reblog it, I figured it would be rude not to tell you.
@veirling there is definitely a version of this job in every industry.
Isn’t it wild that so many high-paying jobs are really just hustles - empty cycles of stealing credit and evading responsibility?
