We had a great day. The youngsters made plenty of QSOs, 355 in less than 10 hours. We had the online scoring showing on a big screen to inspire us and some of the youngsters are already discussing how to improve.

Today I will be helping the youngsters in the YOTA contest at the club. If you hear us SK8YOTA in the contest, let your youngsters call.

Today I am at the club to help our younger members operating with the SK8YOTA callsign. December is the YOTA month. Some of our younger members don't have their license yet so they need help.

I have done my assigned times in our club's participation in the CQ WW CW contest. What a treat. With twelve hours left we already had a DXCC on 15m and over 90 DXCC countries also on 40m and 20m. Not being an active DX-er and personal equipment no-where near the club's antenna towers and amps, I still get excited when getting exotic countries from the other side of the world in the log.

Our entry is far from the top in the competition but I am happy to be part of it.

This is what the lightship Finngrundet looks like. It is moored at the Museum of naval history pier in Stockholm.

We also have a lot of tourists visiting as usual on the museum ships, the Stockholm Fotomaraton having one stop at our site and one of the national TV stations doing a piece on the importance of lighthouses. The museum ships had 2500 visitors in all so fairly stressful and caotic at times around the station.

I am glad that we take this opportunity to show the hobby to the public every year.

It was a great day, yesterday at the Lightship Finngrundet 7S0SFJ. We had three stations active at the same time with many QSOs. But the best of all was that there were so many local hams visiting the station, some of them with recently acquired licenses that met up and some operated the station throwing them into a small pile-up for the first time.
Today I am at a personal portable activity. I made some QSOs for the SMSS Swedish lakes https://www.svenskasjoar.se/ activities. I will try again in a little while and the maybe move to another lake.

We are now installed aboard the Icebreaker St. Erik, in the center of #Stockholm. The antenna and rig are working, we are ready for #museumshipsweekend that starts in a few hours.

We expect hams and non-ham turists to visit the station during the museum's open hours tomorrow but we will be on-the-air also when the museum is closed to the public, until Sunday morning.

Callsign 8S0HRA. SSB, CW and possibly also FT8.

Summing up the YOTA Contest, we had 8 youngster 18 years or younger participating, some of them are scouts that are learning what ham radio is about. They spent the day learning the spelling alphabet and when ready, to operate the radio (under supervision).

Using the call sign SK8YOTA we made 284 QSOs on all five bands.

This Sunday I met the scouts again on a little field day activity where they also got to operate the radio.
