Enjoying some time off in Tokyo this week. Have lots of photos to share once I get back to the US.

I’ve been pretty quiet the past couple of years online. I haven’t blogged in 5 years, and have barely posted to Mastodon/Bluesky compared to what I used to do. Mostly been doing RSS and Reddit.

Wanting to get back into paying attention to the larger tech world again. I miss meeting new people.

TSA PreCheck still operational after previous suspension announcement

The Transportation Security Administration said Sunday that its PreCheck program would remain operational. The development contradicts an earlier announcement from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that the airport security service was being suspended during the partial government shutdown. It was not immediately clear whether Global Entry would be affected. PreCheck and Global Entry are designed to help speed registered travelers through security lines, and suspensions would likely cause headaches and delays. The turmoil is tied to a partial government shutdown that began Feb. 14 after Democrats and the White House were unable to reach a deal on legislation to fund the Homeland Security.
