Valves are cleaned and the injectors have returned and are ready for installation with all new seals and the aftermarket copper seals to finish them off. The ring on my hand is the OEM seal that is pretty weak, the copper is way more substantial!
Over the past few days, I've done a few things!
The injectors have been removed, and they're getting sent out to Graveyard Performance for cleaning / replacement. I didn't break any of the T40 bolts, either! Win!
I just buttoned up the process of replacing the PCV and the PCV plate gasket.
Now, I'm trying to pull the downpipe from the turbo to inspect the wastegate, but today just isn't my day. Dropped my 02 sensor socket that I can't find, and now it's raining off and on. I'm done.
It’s been about a week? I’ve fixed the driver window (rolled down, didn’t go back up) and it ended up being the switch assembly. I also removed the intake manifold in preparation to send out the injectors and do a valve cleaning. Pictures of the nasty build up on the valves are attached.
I also did a two step reset / decontamination wash on it, to get a good understanding of the condition of the paint. It is surprisingly in great condition!
I bought a Mazdaspeed 3… for very cheap! It is a 2007 and it wasn’t running when I bought it. I did some investigating and found that the in tank fuel pump has died, and it ran beautifully with a fuel pump replacement. It’s bone stock, seems to have a decent amount of maintenance over the years. I will be doing the reliability modifications and a few other little things, but that’s it!
With the recent news about TP Link, I figured that now was the proper time to pull these off the network for good.
Am I RCSing wrong? Messages will randomly stop sending and immediately fail until I toggle airplane mode off and on again. They’ll always send as SMS if I ask it to. 18.2 public version on Verizon.
I spent the past few days tinkering with Windows Longhorn and researching further into the development reset that took place. This is all a personal interest of mine, but, I can try to draft a blog post about my findings if anyone is seriously interested? 🤷♂️
I forgot! Another cool thing I did was retrofit a gauge cluster + heads up display from the Grand Touring trim level. I also enabled the entire iActivSense (lane keep assist, high beam control, etc), safety package, too! I had the odometer professionally adjusted but did all of the rest of the work in FORscan. Super neat I could do all of that!
