@Sherifazuhur Yeah, it's been around for 15 years and has hundreds of millions of users. The reasons I don't use it anymore are very valid, but I'm not telling anyone to do anything.

Okay, I'm too sleep deprived to do another #calckey install apparently, so I'm just going to use the one I got working earlier. This will be the LAST self-hosted account anyone needs to know, I stg. @skroobler

@[email protected] Vultr won't let me restore a snapshot to a lower-powered VPS. I have a calckey instance running on the $12 tier as of this morning, so I know that works, but there's no easy way to migrate from the $24 tier to the $12 tier without doing like a remote DB backup and restore, which seems silly for a couple weeks worth of posts.

I would like to migrate this instance from #Misskey to #Calckey, and would also like to put it on a lower-powered (and cheaper!) #VPS, which means realistically I will be losing all of my posts when I do (I'm sure I could muddle through backing up and restoring the DB somehow, but probably more pain than it's worth since I STILL HAVE ALL THE WAFFLES PICTURES ON FILE! 😹), so this will be down for a time later.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate that Mastodon, Twitter's current heir apparent, is completely devoid of all the web3, tokenized, blockchain/nft bullshit that crypto cultists have been feverishly mansplaining will power the internet going forward. None of it is necessary to build a robust, decentralized infrastructure. It was all a bunch of lies and self-deceit to lure suckers into the shitcoin casinos. Let 2023 be the year that crypto dies with a whimper.
