People assume life will get better after high school. Family life, work, friends, etc.. Doesn’t really work out that way for most people, so they start looking at their past as their best of days. It may be more apparent for US citizens because a large part of our history education is the concept of “American exceptionalism,” which really only existed for the small generation right out of WWII.

I’ve seen a lot more pro violence posts and comments lately, which is pretty off putting. I’ve not posted several times because I don’t want to end up on a list because of some echo chambers of maladjusted people. I don’t comment that often to begin with, and lemme/piefed seems to attract people banned from other platforms and other weirdos. Just not a very welcoming platform.

I’m skeptical they could do a proper remake. The FF7 remakes, while they do have some fun bits and highlights, are so unbearably silly they were an absolute slog to get through. And, maybe this is me going old, the combat system is so flashy I can’t tell what’s going on half the time.

Normally you can press one of the buttons to turn those off. The mute button is unlabeled, of course, but in my experience every one of these I’ve come across can be muted. Annoying as fuck on principal, no doubt.
