@USAToday @opinion-USAToday The headline is pure doomerism - there's nothing to stop - we are not even on a path that would actually lead to true "AI" - what we have with LLMs is more akin to a search engine. LLMs can't "think" they just know how to steal information from other sources and regurgitate it when prompted. They don't even understand the meaning of the words they are repeating which is why they will confidently state nonsense. It is a neat parlor trick for plagiarists.

@USAToday @opinion-USAToday America incentivizes law enforcement to kill people that they shoot because that is one less person to testify against the shooter. Law enforcement are permitted to use deadly force if they feel their own life is in danger - if the other party is dead, they are unable to provide testimony to the contrary.
