I just pushed what is probably the last update to Telepath Tactics Liberated before Together in Battle launches. Here is the game's new, nicer-looking rain effect. :)
My absolute least-favorite genre of gaming video: "10 Best Games That Haven't Come Out Yet And Which I 100% Definitely Have Not Played." Youtube is just positively crawling with clairvoyants, apparently
Going on a bit of a polishing spree with Together in Battle. Sometimes that means adding significant QOL features like constant access to the in-game calendar; sometimes it means small things like breaking out my painting tablet and prettying up the in-dialogue "heart" particle.
Phew! I just finished scripting a complicated random event that I've been wanting to have in Together in Battle for quite a while now. Finally making good use of that "generate a unique named weapon" feature I put into the engine many months ago. πŸ™‚
I've played through chapter 4 and so far, and I have to agree: the writing is pretty abysmal. 😐

My copy of Fire When Engage is supposed to finally arrive tomorrow! I have no opinion on the game yet, but I'll say this: it is weird to read so many reviews from professional writers (like the one below) slamming the writing in Fire Emblem Engage, and then simultaneously see pretty much every single FETuber insist that the game's narrative is simple but well-told. Which is it?

Fire Emblem Engage: The Kotaku Review

More streamlined tactical gameplay can’t save this Switch RPG from terrible writing

Good news: I finally figured out a fix for that dumb graphical glitch where victory fireworks suddenly stopped glowing partway through! (We can thank Unity's decision to inextricably link instanced shader material properties for that one)

I am pleased to announce that Together in Battle now has a release date: April 25th!

Here's the full announcement post: https://sinisterdesign.net/together-in-battle-release-date/

You ever suddenly realize--laying in bed well after midnight--that you know how to fix a graphical glitch that's been annoying you for months, and you bolt out of bed and you implement the fix and it immediately *just works*? 'Cause I just did! Feeling pretty good about that. πŸ™‚
Experimenting with adding a trainer into Together in Battle. Just like in the old Telepath RPG titles, you'll be able to pay to improve character stats--but now there's a time cost as well! Characters being trained won't be available for a few days. On the plus side, you'll be able to retrain them in a new class as well. (They'll still keep their old skills!)
