I first got online to discuss/keep up with the NBA and college football, but got into transit/biking after coming to California, and expect this account to stay mostly in those spaces.

I turned off Gemini in messages on my default messaging app the moment I saw any Gemini thing show up, but I just got a message from Gemini anyway... Does anyone know of a more permanent way to kill Gemini? I have signal and use it for many chats, but do message many people that are not all that privacy minded and need a default app that can do sms/rcs without requiring them to get anything special on their end. I just don't want any AI in my conversations if I can help it.
I love when the T spends 5 minutes waiting to cross king, then skips the 4th and King stop entirely as well. Way to add 20 minutes to my trip out of nowhere!

i blame Gavin Newsom.

Jerry Brown would've been making stump speeches all over the state for 6 and against 36. Newsom's just like: oh, gosh, the voters want to return to mass incarceration? how did that happen?

Sometimes the transfer to the T in Powell is perfect and then it encounters basically no traffic coming out of the tunnel and life is good but also feels too good... Like, there's no way service can be this good unless something else is super bad, right?
It got here at 5:35, so only 2 minutes late! It's ok though, the T is known for having a bunch of stops and traffic to negotiate... Wait... My sources are telling me this was a southbound train at Powell, where it comes from 1 stop away in a grade separated tunnel
We LOVE bunching at the 2nd station on the line during the commute hour on a Thursday
I'm 3 songs deep on the bench for a T that's been claiming it's 5 minutes away the whole time... We are so back
Our opponents claim that Muni is struggling because of plunging ridership, but that just isn't true. Muni ridership has consistently rebounded and is now at 76% of pre-pandemic ridership, despite major shifts in commuter travel. Muni now serves over 500K trips daily.
I'd like to issue a correction to my previous statement: the morning train felt empty-ish, the return trip us as packed as any train I've been on that isn't on a giants gameday
I'm only in mountain view every few months now, and every time I come, I feel like there are more and more people on bikes. The Caltrain ridership overall doesn't feel like it's gone up, but the bike cars get full, and there are also lots of people riding around mountain view that I don't see at the platform
