Interesting shifts in the lumber industry as climate change makes southern woods (smaller/weaker woods) preferable to northern woods (bigger/stronger but more prone to beetles and wildfires), seemingly w downstream impacts on construction tactics.

Naive question: I don't quite understand how instances work, but would it make sense (if enough ppl were open to mastodon, etc.) to have an econ-focused instance?

After a fun day of experimenting with this place (and unsuccessfully migrating to a neat new instance), I'm excited to be here. It's got the feel of 2008-era Twitter and I like it!
