Somehow someway Meta continues to reap more and more money in ad revenues, even though this represents a massive waste of money on the part of every business that advertises on Facebook and Instagram. Something like a 1/3 of the content you're served on your newsfeed is just straight up ads. Have you ever clicked on one on purpose? I sure as fuck haven't.

Meta not only has a history of lying about the effectiveness of their ads, but they also have a history of allowing outright scams to buy ad space. Their ad revenues have grown despite their number of active accounts plateauing. When are businesses going to realize that this whole thing is a giant waste of money?

Anyway, despite being outrageously profitable, Meta's laying off 10% of their workforce in May.
