Plan: get a mac for now, then wait for a good opportunity, probably in Black Friday or right after new release, to get an dell laptop.

Not sure which one should I get for my next #laptop. The current choices are

- macbook air m5 (just released)
- dell pro precision (up coming in May)
- thinkpad p1 gen9 (up coming in June)

Sadly, the two PC choices may or may not have AMD cpu. They are also overpriced right now.

Part 1 is a #good_read on why it is hard to port Qt projects to other GUI frameworks or replacing the underlying models.

Qt Widgets to Qt Quick, An Application Journey Part 1

Consider moving from legacy Qt Widgets code to Qt Quick? Compare the software architecture patterns used in Qt applications.

I believe reliability is the most important virtue for critical software. Software that a user will use daily is critical for that user. A piece of code or program should not be called as "software" before reaching a high reliability standard.

I want to get a new #laptop with a #AMD CPU & NVIDIA GPU from either Lenovo or Dell.

Sadly, the combo of AMD + NVIDIA is rare and there is only a single model right now: Dell Pro Max 16. However, for some reason, the Pro Max 16 is capped to blackwell 1000 and its screen doesn't have an option for anti-glare?

I think waiting for the next year is better.

I do have the choice of getting a "gaming laptop" but they are so ugly.
