I took a trip to Amazon's brick & mortar book store in MA.
Takeaways:
- It's not a traditional bookstore. Inventory is rotated weekly based upon Amazon's web data, so there's less inventory
- Books are shown cover first, with a user reviews from Amazon
- There are traditional genre sections, but they also have categories based on Kindle, Amazon, & Goodreads data such as books that kindle readers finish in 3 days or less
- Scanning is encourage and part of the experience of paying w/ Amazon Prime
