Finished "Immortality", the newest game by "Her Story" creator Sam Barlow today, and I'm still a bit breathless. I love FMV games, but I've never seen one with half as much ambition or scope as this one. Such an incredible cast, as well! I do agree that the "match cut" mechanic left me grasping at straws at times, but regardless, the story had me completely hooked, and the ending was absolutely brilliant. Quite possibly a Top 10 game for me.

Finished watching "Counterpart" starring JK Simmons. I'm shocked I haven't heard more about this show, it was really good!

Premise is a low-level government agent finds out our world has secretly been in contact with a parallel earth for 30 years, after which he gets pulled into spy games between the two worlds involving his alt-universe double.

Season 1 was more of a character piece, with season 2 going more spy thriller. Both were excellent, and stuck the landing.

Today, on a recommendation from TikTok, I tried Birthday Cake Oreos for the first time. I concur with the sentiment I heard: they taste like if Dunkaroos had a cooler older brother. I don't think I can ever go back now.
Finished the first "cour" of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War. I'd already read the manga, so I knew what to expect. As an adaptation, it was really well done; great animation, and Bleach's signature bombastic soundtrack. The source material, though, I feel is a showcase of some of the author's worst tendencies (way too many new characters, overuse of retcons for plot twists, ect).
Finally got around to finishing the first season of "The Sandman" on Netflix! I'm a big fan of the comics, and I watched it with someone who hadn't read them, and we both really liked it! Great casting for some really tough to cast roles, and gorgeous special effects. Here's hoping they can keep it up next season!
Saw "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" today, and absolutely loved it, quite possibly even more than the original! Amazing cast, beautiful sets, and a very clever mystery that, like the first movie, plays with the form and structure of the classic mystery story in some fun ways. Here's to more like this!
Just finished the first season of "1899" on Netflix and it was everything I had hoped it was: an interesting and unique setting that got super weird with the sci-fi. I do love a puzzle box, though I know that type of storytelling isn't for everyone. Supposedly the creators have a three season run in mind, but S1 is going to be a tough act to follow.
