Whenever I’m doing a git rebase and have to figure out what “current” vs “incoming” means
GitHub needs way more emojis in their emoji picker!
TIL Twitter and Mastodon count URLs as a maximum of 23 characters. Bluesky counts URLs as a maximum of 27. 🤷‍♂️

Humane raised $230M and is being acquired for $116M.

This is honestly more than I expected but probably the going price for hiring a boatload of ex-Apple execs and designers even if the actual product is worthless.

Did not expect this crossover nod between two AppleTV+ series
The AppleTV app really needs to incorporate if you’ve already watched the latest episode before sending a push notification. Also, that was a great episode of Severence.
Frog & Toad on AppleTV+ is super calming for kids. Also recommend he read-along books via Hoopla & your local library login. Also, Toad is a vibe.
HomeAssistant seems to come preconfigured with a dedicated service for the Sun. No love for default installing the moon? How will people know they can toggle their lights when it’s a waxing gibbous??

Didn’t know about the Japanese “space out” competition

About that recent flurry of reports about the dangers of using utensils made of black plastic?

Turns out that the math in the paper that produced the result was off by a factor of 10.

Ref. limit for BDE-209 = 7,000 ng per kg of body weight per day.
Limit for a 60-kg adult = 60 * 7,000 = 42,000 ng per day.
Median intake from kitchenware = 34,700
Median intake = 82% of limit. That is alarming 😬
But 60 * 7,000 = 420,000 not 42,000.
Hence, median intake = 8.2% of limit 😅

How a simple math error sparked a panic about black plastic kitchen utensils

A study warned that people were being exposed to a toxic chemical from kitchen utensils. But the researchers misstated the safe daily limit
