Dolphin's video thumbnail preview - what is it called? - Lemmy.World

Dolphin generates previews for video files through ffmpegthumbnailer; but it also generates a few sequence images from the video when the mouse is hovered over it what is this feature called? I want to troubleshoot why some video files are getting the thumbnails generated, but not the sequence of images, and have found it quite diifcult finding something specific to this feature - all sorts of problems solved seem to be related to the thumbnail system itself, not the sequence of images

There’s one old game that works better by chosing “Scaled by the system”; however this make other x11 apps look slightly blurry. Is it possible to either choose “Apply scaling themselves” and exclude one app from it, or exclude every other app from “scaled by the system”, so it only affect this one game?

title before 6.3, powerdevil randomly did not answer to increase/decrease brightness after comming back fromm a screen off, and I got it fixed by running systemctl --user restart plasma-powerdevil.service however now I get a somewhat different problem, the screen is always back at 100% brightness after a dimming and then screen off, although powerdevil is still responsive to increase/decrease brightness shortcut it’s not a laptop, and therefore there is only one power setting running on - AC - via DP Has anyone else experienced this ?

Meta + T will show some pre-defined tiling settings and paddings, and using Shift + mouse drag it’s possible to quick tile windows in these patterns is it possible to replicate this somehow via keyboard ?

I want to change brightness based on which window is running, if its an IDE in dark mode increase, if it is a browser window decrease. The command itself is fairly easy to run even on wayland qdbus local.org_kde_powerdevil /org/kde/Solid/PowerManagement/Actions/BrightnessControl setBrightness 5000 qdbus local.org_kde_powerdevil /org/kde/Solid/PowerManagement/Actions/BrightnessControl setBrightness 10000 how can I do it on a per app/window basis?

Pretty much the title. I have been trying to pinpoint what’s causing it and the proper logs, but the only thing in common so far in all times it has happened is firefox and another xwayland application are present. logs show several errors, including this one - but how could I file a bug report, if I don’t know how to reproduce it ? Aug 15 17:09:37 hostname konsole[3721]: The cached device pixel ratio value was stale on window update. Please file a QTBUG which explains how to reproduce.
