Ok, at some point today, I’m going to attempt to migrate this to spore.social, but I hope this will cause zero disruptions to anyone reading here now… if anyone is reading this now…
@ibycter 100% read this as “guns, theft, puffins, fishies” and I didn’t know what kind of heist film I was clicking into…
We went to the Lou Reed exhibit at the NYPL today, and my favorite stuff was the correspondence written to Lou by Moe. This amazing fax. Adorable greeting cards. But also, he had Shearwater’s Rook in his record collection (!!), and that just makes me beam.
The plural is "Masts o' Dawn"
I saw “Federal Budgets” in a headline and thought it said “Phoebe Bridgers”…
@zwirnm And the funny thing is that I can’t tell if it would be worth moving my bands here or not… which is probably how all bands feel… so no one is coming over.
@zwirnm I don’t feel like I follow that much music content on the birdsite, but I also definitely feel the lack of music content here. I can’t even quite pinpoint what that content would look like, but that (large) segment of my life is not really represented here…

Phew- Figured out how to get the NYT, WaPo, and LATimes news feeds on my timeline, so things are looking a little more cozy. It’s like, they’re the walls of the space, and all my friends are what will make it my home.

Now, I need all my record labels to come aboard, and we’ll be talkin’ about actually moving in here.

@abetterjulie Thank you! On the bird site, I am def not an algorithm person - I’m a strictly follow my friends in chronological order on my timeline person, so quiet is fine with me! But perhaps I should find more people to follow. It’s just daunting to have to rebuild my community.
Ok, I’m going to try to post here more instead of on the bird site to try to transition from there to here, but the withdrawal is intense. Friends, what are you doing for those bird nostalgia pangs?
