This year was our fiercest competition ever, with more than 25 stories! We asked and you delivered some fabulous writing. Judging was extra difficult as there was so much talent in those .txt files! There are just three weeks left to submit your entry for Phish Stories, the contest where crafting a phishing email that makes us click AND laugh could win you free entry to DEF CON.
🃏 Scenario:
The DoubleThree Hotel and Casino is falling apart—financially, physically, and reputationally.
You’ve got four targets to choose from:
A GM with rebranding fever
A retiring game dev who just wants peace
A hospitality newbie with too much hope
An exterminator-turned-security “expert” with a severe case of overconfidence
🎯 Your mission:
Write a short backstory and a phishing email targeting one or more of these poor souls. Make it absurd. Make it clever. Make us wonder how this hotel is still operational.
