I am pleased to report the desktop is out of surgery and is doing fine.
He lost one of his two WiFi antennas during surgery, but he’s always hard wired to the router, so it’s a negligible loss.
Now he’s ready for a fresh Linux OS install after putting him through his paces to make sure the NVMe drives I replaced are working as intended.
